Whatβs included?
All our products come supplied with all the fixings that youβll need for safe and secure installation.
SCREWS AND WALL PLUGS
Screws
For our shelving we use top quality black Pozidrive, countersunk and pan head screws.
Our βpipework bracketβ shelves are supplied with 5mm x 50mm countersunk screws, while our βL bracketβ shelves are supplied with both 4mm x 50mm and 4mm x 25mm pan head screws.
Our smaller homeware items are supplied with zinc plated 4mm x 38mm screws.
Wall Plugs
We use (in our opinion) the best Fischer wall plugs designed for solid stone or brick walls.
There may be no reason why you cannot affix our shelves or other products to plasterboard, but we recommend that you purchase suitable wall plugs and think carefully about how much weight shelves will need to bear. You can talk to your local DIY branch and they should be able to help.Β
Our βpipework bracketβ shelves and our βL bracketβ shelves are both supplied with 8mm x 40mm wall plugs.
Our smaller homeware items are supplied with 6mm x 30mm wall plugs.
Fun Fact
These fixings allow a superbly robust end result. For instance, our βpipeworkβ bracketed shelves will easily hold 25kg when affixed to a solid wall. Thatβs the weight of an American Bison, at birthβ¦ or more sensibly, the weight of 75 of your favourite paperbacks.
BRACKETS
'L' Brackets
We send out most of our shelves with their brackets already attached, to save you installation time.
The only exceptions are both our Downward βL' brackets and our Upward βLβ brackets.
Our Downward βLβ brackets because the bottom fixing hole is behind where the wood sits - in this case, it makes more sense to complete the attachment in situ, but it is a straightforward task.
Our upward βLβ bracket shelves are also sent with the brackets not attached, as lots of people use these shelves above radiators then we feel this gives you freedom to place the brackets where suits you best.
Both style of βL' brackets come with 4mm x 50mm Pozidrive pan head screws for the wall and 4mm x 25mm Pozidrive pan head screws for fixing the bracket to the shelf.
'Pipework' Brackets
All our 'pipework' shelf brackets are fabricated in our workshop, carefully ground and squared up, cleaned and then sent to a local firm for a thick layer of powder coating.
We send these shelves with their brackets already attached, to save you installation time.
